 8 am.

Making the cut with a water cooled system (our hosepipe).

Sledge hammer.

 

40-year-old concrete vs. modern Hilti breaker.

No chance.

One step at a time (literally).

Ingenious scaffold board bridge to the skip.

End of day one. 

*I'm told by the erstwhile writer of this blog that Mauerbau was also a name for the Berlin Wall. Hopefully ours won't create a social divide between us and our neighbours that lasts 28 years. (Ed.)
